Engine oil viscosity and classification for trucks

Viscosity refers to the flow behaviour of lubricating oils for trucks (HGVs) at different temperatures. At different temperatures, these oils behave in different ways. According to the specifications of SAE J300 (Society of Automotive Engineers), the viscosity class can be determined from the designation of the engine oils. The number before the "W" indicates the viscosity at low temperatures. The smaller this number, the lower the viscosity of the oil at low temperatures.
